As a light dramatic work, Whatever It Takes portrays the story between a middle-age couple and a young couple. A theft on the bus joins the four people and their lives together. Qu Yaodong, a middle-aged man on his way to a blind date lost his wallet on a bus which caused the misunderstanding with Deng Youzhen who was just divorced from her husband. They later moved into the same apartment by coincidence. Meanwhile, Qiao Rui, the policeman worked on their case happened to date doctor Xu Jingnan, who was once Qu Yaodong’s blind date. The story becomes more and more complicated when Qu’s over-protected mother was dead against Deng, who suddenly intrude his son’s life while Qu himself was preyed by three thieves…
